Dentists are exposed to aerosols from their patients during work – AER X provides a remedy with efficient aerosol extraction. A major challenge was the manufacturability of the silicone hose. It should fit the patient comfortably, but still have a certain stiffness to withstand the strong exhaust air flow. To this end, we developed the hose shown here, which is forcibly demolded. We also developed the headphone connection, which can be easily adjusted to the patient’s head shape by means of locking steps and a magnet. The housing is ultrasonically welded gas-tight and can withstand 1000 sterilization cycles under hot steam and UV light. AER X schafft Abhilfe mit einer effizienten Aerosolabsaugung. Eine grosse Challenge war die Herstellbarkeit des Silikon-Schlauchs. Dieser soll beim Patienten bequem anliegen, aber trotzdem eine gewisse Steifigkeit mitbringen, um dem starken Abluftstrom standzuhalten. Dazu konstruierten wir den abgebildeten Schlauch, welcher zwangsentformt wird. Zudem entwickelten wir die Kopfhöreranbindung, die mittels Raststufen und einem Magneten einfach an die Kopfform des Patienten angepasst werden kann. Das Gehäuse ist gasdicht ultraschallverschweisst und hält bis zu 1000 Sterilisierungszyklen unter Heissdampf und UV-Licht aus. Die Schweissung wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Hermann Ultraschall ausgelegt.
