For “the first smokeless raclette with downdraft smoke extraction”, we were able to extensively test and improve the concept. We analyzed the air flows, tested different fan geometries, inlets, outlets and filters and made recommendations for action. It was exciting, for example, to compare the speed of the heated air with the speed of the horizontally blown air and the resulting air volume flow required to filter the air effectively. Or the comparison of pressure loss of the filters to pressure curves of possible fans to noise emissions of said fans. An exciting and very complex topic with many experimental set-ups and findings.
