Universal use on streetcar tracks in urban areas, but also on SBB tracks: conversion of a Landrover Defender for two-way operation. A hydraulic substructure with rail wheels was developed on the chassis of the Defender, which offers maximum ground clearance when retracted and enables driving on rails when extended. The great difficulty in the development was, on the one hand, compliance with all standards for rail operation: For example, the clearance gauge had to be observed and an additional vehicle-independent brake had to be added. On the other hand, however, all standards for road approval also had to be complied with: Here, the permissible total weight of 3.5 tons with rail chassis, hydraulics and additional loading crane was a real challenge.
