Thermit welding on tracks requires a lot of material and tools. To be able to work efficiently, a well-equipped welding carriage is needed on which everything is accessible within easy reach. With a first wooden model, the necessary material was placed and the working method was analyzed with welders. On this basis, a battery-powered welding carriage was developed, which can be easily converted to different track widths. Production, commissioning and testing went smoothly, so that only a few ergonomic adjustments had to be made for series production.
